Students protest stay on UGC guidelines
Lucknow: Members of the Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students' Association (BAPSA) continued their protest at Parivartan Chowk, opposing the Supreme Court stay on the UGC equity guidelines and announcing the extension of their agitation till March 19. Protesters argued that the stay weakens the framework meant to ensure fair representation and inclusion in higher education. According to BAPSA members, the pause on the guidelines directly impacts marginalised communities by delaying the implementation of equity measures in universities.
