Students draw city monuments
Lucknow: Students of various degree colleges took part in a painting competitionon World Heritage Day on Tuesday. The students drew various monuments and suggested ways to preserve them.Priyanka Kumari from Mahila PG College, Srijal Agrawal from Nari Shiksha Niketan PG College and Ragini Singh from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Nagar Nigam Degree College stood first, second and third respectively. Aanchal Shukla and Santoshi Singh were awarded consolation prizes. Assistant director, directorate of UP State Archeology (DUPSA), Rajiv Trivedi said that the day is celebrated to raise awareness among the people to preserve the rich culture and heritage. “In India there are 40 UNESCO world heritage sites of which three are present in UP.”
