Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested Nanku alias Ramkumar alias Lale, a wanted criminal with a reward of Rs 50,000, for his involvement in a robbery case at Maharajganj Tarai police station in Balrampur.
Acting on credible intelligence, a team led by sub-inspector Amit Kumar Tiwari intercepted Nanku. Additional superintendent of police, STF, Dinesh Kumar Singh, said that Nanku confessed to operating an organised gang involved in thefts and robberies. "The gang comprises 5-6 members and has executed several high-profile crimes, including a major theft in the Khargopur area of Gonda district and robberies in Maharajganj Tarai and Laliya areas of Balrampur district. After committing these crimes, the gang members would hide in cities such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Nanku admitted that he recently returned home and was planning to escape to Nepal when he was arrested," said Singh.
STF confirmed that Nanku is implicated in over half a dozen cases registered across different police stations in various districts.Efforts are ongoing to gather additional information about his associates and other criminal activities.
