Lucknow: Best performers from the fields of music, theatre, and standup comedy are set to add fun, entertainment and enthusiasm in the 12th season of arts festival, Repertwahr, from Dec 19-22.
The key attraction of the event will be a 40-foot-tall art installation made of recycled material.
The festival, to be organized at Janeshwar Mishra Park, will have an enthralling line-up spanning theatre, music, literature, and comedy.
People will also be able to enjoy a vast variety of food and crafts at the Bazaar section of the festival.
"The installation is more than an art piece. It stands as the heart of the festival, an intersection of stories, art forms, and the human spirit. It is a monumental guardian of culture and a symbol of imagination, bringing together the very essence of the festival's spirits — Ustaad, Behrupiya, Maskara, Bookworm, and The Provider," said organiser Bhoopesh Rai.
"The festival is set to open with a musical performance by celebrated singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad and the innovative techno-fusion sitar artist Chandulal Kalburgi. The evening will set the tone for four days of artistic brilliance," he said.
Rai said the second day would be overtaken by soulful and poignant poetry by Azhar Iqbal and upcoming poet Eishita Chaturvedi. "Comedian Gaurav Kapoor will add a dash of humour to the day. Theatre drama ‘Hind', starring Sachin Khedkar, Sonal Jha, Dadhi Pandey, Ankiit, Ravi Chahar, and NK Pant, will be presented on the second day. This theatrical presentation is the Hindustani version of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play ‘Fences'," he said.
"On the third day, legendary poet Javed Akhtar will perform alongside Laksh Maheshwari and Rahgir. Delivering much-needed laughter to audiences will be Harsh Gujral. The final day of the festival will have Indian actress, poet, and storyteller Priya Malik, followed by singer and songwriter Raman Negi," he added.
Comedian Ravi Gupta will also present ‘Shudh Desi' comedy.
