LUCKNOW: President of Samajwadi Party's Pilibhit unit Gopal Krishna Saxena shot dead one Raju Pandey. Home secretary Jagannath Singh said that Pandey's mother, Nirmala, was planning to contest the block pramukh election as SP nominee. However, Saxena was against it. A case has been registered against four persons, including Saxena and his two sons, said the home secretary. Meanwhile, Dr Arvind, son-in-law of the Samajwadi Party legislator from Bhojipura Virendra Singh Gangwar, shot dead a person at Baheri in Bareilly district.
The home secretary said that a woman was admitted to Dr Arvind's clinic for delivery. The fees for the same was fixed at Rs 8,000. Two days after being discharged, the woman developed complication and was rushed back to the clinic. After attending the patient, the doctor demanded additional Rs 2,000. This was refused by one V Ahmad, who was accompanying the patient. After an altercation between the two over the amount, the doctor shot Ahmad dead.According to reports, Dr Anand had been accused of harassing patients in the past too. As the news spread, people of the area stoned the doctor's clinic. Later, the police arrived on the scene and arrested the doctor.
