SP hits out at govt over med services
Lucknow: Members of the Samajwadi Party in the Vidhan Parishad on Monday questioned the state govt on the status of health services in Uttar Pradesh, alleging that there was a severe shortage of doctors, nurses, medicines and health infrastructure. Taking up the matter under Rule 105, SP MLC Shah Alam alleged that a Niti Aayog report placed UP last in health services. "In govt hospitals, there is a shortage of 46% nurses and 38% doctors. In district hospitals and CHCs, there is a lack of beds. In 29% PHCs, there is no drinking water. Toilet facilities are fewer. Medicines worth crores of rupees keep expiring, and there is a long wait for tests like MRIs and scans," he said.
