SP expels partyman involved in Fatehpur incident?

Lucknow: Fatehpur district president of Samajwadi Party, Surendra Prarap Singh, on Tuesday expelled party functionary Pappu Singh Chauhan of Hussainganj. As per the official memo issued by Surendra Singh, Pappu was expelled for anti- party activity. However reports said Chauhan's name has figured as an accused in the Fatehpur incident. Unconfirmed reports said he was part of the mob that hoisted saffron flags atop the mausoleum. On Tuesday, a video surfaced on social media where a man identifying himself as Pappu Singh Chauhan announced that he has resigned from SP because the party had betrayed his trust. He said in Fatehpur district the party was being run by Muslims. Claiming to be a Hindu and a Sanatani, Chauhan in the video said he will always raise issues concerning the Hindus irrespective of the objections raised by "them" - in an apparent reference to SP's Fatehpur district unit. It could not be verified if the man in the video was the same Pappu Singh Chauhan who was expelled from SP. Or, the same person named in the FIR in connection with Fatehpur incident.
