SP chief’s ‘100 MLAs’ remark shows political bankruptcy: Chaudhary

Lucknow: Reacting strongly to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's "offer" to BJP leaders to "bring in" 100 MLAs and stake claim for the UP chief minister's post, UP BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary on Monday said such statement reflects the opposition's "frustration, disappointment and political bankruptcy".Without naming anyone, Akhilesh Yadav, had in a press conference on Sunday, said: "It appears he (CM Yogi Adityanath) flew out of India. We are reviving the offer—100 vidhayak laiye aur mukhya mantri ban jaiye (Bring 100 MLAs with you and become the chief minister)."
Yogi has embarked on an official tour to Singapore and Japan. He said SP should focus on their own organisation, which he claimed was witnessing a steady decline in public support. "The BJP has a clear system of discipline, organisation and leadership, whereas the Samajwadi Party is marked by dynastic politics and internal discord," he said. He added that the opposition has run out of public issues and is attempting to grab headlines through irresponsible and politically immature statements. "The BJP remains united and firmly committed to serving the 250 million people of the state. Such statements cannot weaken our resolve or public support," he said. Chaudhary asserted that the people of UP gave a full mandate to the party to govern and serve the public. "The state govt is committed to development, good governance, maintaining law and order, and welfare of the poor," he said and added that the people of UP favoured politics centred on development and governance. He said under the BJP govt, the state has witnessed "historic improvements" in investment, employment generation, infrastructure development and law and order, leaving the opposition politically marginalised.
