LUCKNOW: Victim of the Gomtinagar loot incident, which took place on Saturday, faltered once the cops began questioning him and confessed to have scripted the loot drama to escape his mother's wrath for stealing a few hundred rupees.
A feeling that he was being neglected by his mother Krishna, while his brother Rishabh had all the privilege and he was not even getting monetary help from his mother for his daily need, forced Ritesh to script the drama.

However, what he never thought was the fact that the issue would go out of his hands, as his mother would lodge an FIR in the matter.
"Ritesh might have stolen a few hundred rupees, while his mother and brother had left for the day's work and to hide his act, he used scissors to make hole in the almirah and even injured himself by a kitchen knife," police said.
A few minutes before his mother arrived, he acted as if he was unconscious, which forced the mother to press the panic button and informed her neighbours about the incident. The incident took place in Vikas Khand locality of Gomtinagar police station area on Saturday.
On the suggestion of the neighbours, Krishna got an FIR registered through his elder son Rishabh claiming that miscreants have looted Rs 10,000 as cash and jewellery from the almirah after beating up his younger son.

However, Krishna also confessed before the police that there was no cash in the almirah and jewellery was also artificial. She told the police that it was following advice by the neighbours that she lodged a frivolous FIR. She also told the police that she was unaware that Ritesh has scripted the loot story.
Talking to TOI, SP (trans-Gomti) Nitin Tiwari said, "The FIR will now be expunged." Since Ritesh is a student and any action against him could spoil his career, it has been decided to let him go after a stern warning, the police said.
