Six policemen booked for custodial death

LUCKNOW: A case has been registered against six policemen -- three of them suspended -- in connection with a custodial death in Chandauli district, police said in Lucknow on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday when the policemen picked up one Ramashankar from Ambedkarnagar area under Sakaldeeha police circle for interrogation into a complaint against him, they said.
Ramashankar died in the police custody, and later his family members registered an FIR against six policemen.
Taking note of the incident, authorities suspended three policemen -- Mahendra Nath Kanaujia, Deepchandra and Jitendra Kumar.
