Lucknow: Six foreign women were found working without valid employment visas at a spa centre located in a commercial complex behind a prominent mall in the Sushant Golf City area.
Police said it has registered a case against the director of Blue Berry Thai Spa Pvt. Ltd. in Skyline Plaza 1, Sector A. "The FIR against spa director Simran Singh of Varanasi was lodged after it was found that six foreign women were found working on the premises without a valid employment or work visa. All of them were carrying business or tourist visas," said sub inspector Vipin Pratap, who lodged an FIR.
"During inspection, it was also found that they were found staying on the premises of spa centre but had no rent agreements or Form-C documents required for foreign nationals residing in India," said the SI.
One of the women, Nuchanart Tungkrathok, who was managing the spa, stated that the company's director Simran Singh occasionally visits Lucknow. "Simran Singh has been booked under Section 61/318(4) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita), Section 14(A) and Section 7(1) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and Section 5 of the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939. Legal action is being initiated accordingly," said assistant commissioner of police (Mohanlalganj) Rajneesh Verma.
"We are taking statements from all to ascertain if it is anything beyond working without a proper permit in a spa centre," said the ACP.
