LUCKNOW: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her elder sister and the latter's lover in the Mohammadpur Khala area of Barabanki district. Both the accused were arrested on Saturday.
Police said the minor girl had gone to work in a field on Thursday but did not return. Later, her body was found in a field.
During investigation, police found the victim's 19-year-old sister was in a relationship with a man.
On Thursday, the girl caught her sister with her lover in the field. Fearing that their relationship would be exposed, they allegedly killed the girl.
After committing the crime, both returned to their homes and pretended to join the search for the missing child to avoid suspicion.
The case was cracked using technical surveillance, including mobile call detail records and location tracking, which revealed frequent contact between the two accused.
Police were deployed in the village to maintain law and order after the body was found.
