Shardiya mela organised in city

LUCKNOW: The Bengali Club and Youth Committee organised `Shardiya mela' to welcome goddess Durga on Sunday. People participated in the mela in large numbers.
"It signifies that the Durga puja is just near. It is a sort of enjoyment that Bengalis have before the actual Durga puja celebrations begin," said Arun Banerjee, general secretary, Bengali Club and Youth Committee.
"It is a get together that we participate in where we meet our friends and relatives and enjoy chatting and dancing," said a member of the club. Various stalls were set up where kids played games and had fun.
