SGPGI to start LASIK eye surgery

Lucknow: The ophthalmology department at

SGPGI

will now start conducting refractive surgery through

LASIK

and

SMILE

procedures.“We will be the first government institute in UP to provide refractive surgery by LASIK and SMILE,” said the statement.Authorities also informed that two seats in Master of Surgery in ophthalmology have been approved by the

National Medical Council

for the department which was established in 2013.The facility of corneal transplant and eye bank will also be started soon.
