Schoolboy killed in road accident

A 19-year-old school student driving a motorcycle without a helmet died while his friend riding pillion with him was severely injured in a road accident in Mohanlalganj on Saturday.

LUCKNOW: A 19-year-old school student driving a motorcycle without a helmet died while his friend riding pillion with him was severely injured in a road accident in Mohanlalganj on Saturday.
The accident occurred when Kshitij Kumar and his friend Vaibhav Mishra, both students of St Peters’ School, were returning home after school. Eyewitnesses said the motorcycle was in high speed when a cow suddenly walked onto the middle of the road.

As Kshitij applied brakes, the bike slipped and both the students fell on the road. While Vaibhav fell at a distance towards the divider, Kshitij was run over by a bus and killed on the spot. Vaibhav was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The accident led to a traffic jam on the stretch for almost an hour.
Police are now on the lookout for the bus driver on the basis of the registration number provided by commuters.
