Lucknow: Captain Sameer Rizvi scored an unbeaten 158 as hosts Uttar Pradesh beat Tamil Nadu by six wickets at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow to get full points. On the fourth day of the match on Wednesday, UP needed 312 runs to win, which it successfully scored at the loss of four wickets.Tamil Nadu had scored a mammoth 485 in their second innings on the third day, giving UP the target of 314 runs. UP ended the third day scoring two runs without any loss and needed 312 runs on the last day.Tamil Nadu had scored 152 runs in their first innings while UP had scored 323. On the last day of the match, all eyes were on UP batsmen. Openers Abhishek Goswami (22) and Harsh Tyagi (65) gave UP a solid start by adding 40 runs for the first wicket. Aditya Sharma, who came to bat at number three, contributed (22) runs. After his dismissal, captain Sameer Rizvi (unbeaten 158) and Harsh Tyagi (65), brought UP’s innings on track.Harsh faced 100 balls and hit nine fours. After his dismissal, Siddharth Yadav was out for eight runs. Sameer Rizvi and Swastik took UP to victory. Swastik played a crucial knock to remain not out at 30 while Sameer Rizvi was unbeaten at 158. Facing 107 balls, he hit 13 sixes and 11 fours. For Tamil Nadu, Mohan Prasath S, R Sonu Yadav, Yazh Arun and Sunny took one wicket each.
