LUCKNOW: With the recent incident of ‘sadhus’ moving suspiciously in Gulistan colony still fresh in the minds of residents, another such instance occurred in the city. A bunch of ‘sadhus’ allegedly made an attempt to force their entry into the house of a sub divisional magistrate (SDM) in Shivani Vihar recently.
On July 29, four saffron clad men and another person arrived at the Shivani Vihar residence of Prem Prakash, a SDM at present posted in Shahjahanpur.
Prem Prakash was in Shahjahanpur, while his wife Shashi Prabha was present in the house when the five arrived in a white Maruti car (UTI 3000). They asked Shashi to serve them drinking water. Sensing trouble, Shashi refused to oblige and the four allegedly tried to break into the house. As the housewife raised an alarm, the five sped away from the scene.
On July 31, when Prem Prakash reached Lucknow, he lodged a formal FIR against the unidentified saffron clad men with the local Gudumba police, accusing them of a robbery attempt.
