Exclusive counters for women, seniors at RTOs

Lucknow: The transport department will open separate counters for women, senior citizens, accredited journalists and current and former army personnel for various services in the RTOs (regional transport offices).
Minister of state for transport (independent charge) Dayashankar Singh said this will make it convenient for these people to avail services related to driving licences, registration and fitness of vehicles, besides other facilities.
The decision was taken in view of the huge turnout of customers and applicants at the offices every day, he said.
