LUCKNOW: From tongue twisters to ‘loudest laugh’ and dumb charades, students of Lucknow University celebrated International Happiness Day on Tuesday with fun and gaiety.

Organised by the Happy Thinking Laboratory (HLT) in collaboration with the Institute of Women's Studies (IWS) and National Cadet Corps at ONGC building, the event also witnessed students sharing their experiences about what makes them happy.

The event commenced with students participating in a ‘tongue twisters’ contest followed by the ‘Loudest Laugh’ competition and dumb charades. Winners were felicitated later.

Chief guest of the event, dean student welfare Prof Poonam Tandon said happiness can be found in everything with the right perspective. Guest of honour dean of arts Prof Arvind Awasthi said that students should choose the profession they enjoy for being happy in life.

Director HLT Prof Madhurima Pradhan and IWS coordinator Manini Srivastava were also present on the occasion.

Students were also informed about how instruments such as Triple Physiology Sensor (TPS), computer-based cognitive screening system and biofeedback machinery in the lab are used for the benefit of students.

The General Assembly of the United Nations in 2012 proclaimed March 20 to be celebrated as the International Day of Happiness every year to recognize the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals.
