Rashtriya Lok Dal workers stage protest in Moradabad

LUCKNOW: Rashtriya Lok Dal workers led by party general secretary, Jayant Chaudhary staged an agitation at the office of Moradabad commissioner, seeking timely clearance of dues for cane growers.
Taking a pot shot at urban development minister Azam Khan, Jayant said that it was in his constituency where the maximum dues - to the tune of around 38% - are pending. "This is an irony that such thing can happen in a constituency of such a powerful minister," Jayant said.
The RLD workers later handed over a memorandum to the district officials. They also threatened of launching a state-wide agitation in case the dues are not cleared by April 14. RLD state president, Munna Singh Chauhan asked the state government to direct the mill owners to clear the arrears.
