Rajnath wishes AIR’s veteran broadcaster on 95th birthday

Lucknow: On his first day of visit to the city, Lucknow MP and defence minister Rajnath Singh visited the residence of former All India Radio broadcaster Pandit Yagya Dev Sharma and celebrated his 95th birthday. Sharma was specially popular for his baritone voice on the air wave.
Sharma, who is patron of the public welfare committee, lives in Vipul Khand of Gomtinagar with his wife Kanta Pandit and other family members.Rajnath was accompanied by deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, MLC Mukesh Sharma and some BJP leaders.
Later in a public meeting, Rajnath said, “Work on the Outer Ring Road is progressing at a good pace and additional flyovers would be constructed to ease traffic movement in the city. Soon, the Brahmos missile manufacturing unit too would start functioning in Lucknow.”
