LUCKNOW: In an effort to swiftly address medical emergencies and provide immediate first aid to passengers onboard, the railway board on Wednesday issued directives to the Northern Railway and North Central Railway zones to furnish train ticket examiners with first aid kits.
The pilot project will be closely monitored for a year, following which the board will determine whether to implement it across the entire Indian railway network. According to the board, the Prayagraj division of NCR has already commenced the provision of first aid boxes to TTEs in trains.
The first aid kits will be equipped with essential medicines including 10 band-aid strips, two gauze pads, five roller bandages for injuries, 20 tablets each of paracetamol 650 mg (for fever and pain), Levocetirizine 5 mg (for allergies), Oflox OZ (for diarrhea), Ondansetron 4 mg (for nausea and vomiting), sorbitrate 10 mg (for chest pain), 24 tablets of antacid (for acidity), an antiseptic cream, five ORS packets (for diarrhea), and paracetamol syrup for minors.
