Raghubir Lal new police commissioner of Kanpur Nagar dist

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh govt on Monday appointed additional director general (security) Raghubir Lal as the new police commissioner of Kanpur Nagar.A 1997-batch IPS officer, Lal has extensive experience in security management, having earlier strengthened the security framework of the new Parliament building in Delhi and served with the CISF. He is also a recipient of two Presidential Gallantry Medals. The transfer follows the central deputation of outgoing Kanpur Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar, who was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). He will hold the post in the rank and pay scale of an additional secretary to the government of India. In other administrative changes, DG Cyber Crime Binod Kumar Singh has been given additional charge of the CID, while IG Lucknow Range Tarun Gauba will now hold charge of both the Lucknow Range and Security Wing. Until now, the department of CID was with DG prosecution Dipesh Juneja under whose tenure a new record of completing 170 investigations in a span of just nine months was set.
