LUCKNOW: District police on Sunday arrested two of the five persons involved in the murder of Vipin, who was working as state president of a private firm -- Anti Corruption and Oppression Committee of India (ACOCI) -- with its office on the second floor in Goel Palace on Faizabad Road. Vipins's body was found inside his office on April 8.
Those nabbed identified themselves as Alim Khan alias Munna Khan and Ehsan Ahmad alias Chand, both residents of Ghazipur district.
Both of them were carrying a reward of Rs 2,500 each on their heads. Police recovered from them two country made firearms along with their cartridges. The two were nabbed near Kukrail Bridge. Three other accomplices Shekhu, Santosh and Mushtaq, however, managed to escape.
During interrogation, the two revealed that they killed Vipin as he had taken cash from them promising all of them jobs. They said that Santosh gave Rs 30,000, Mustaq gave Rs 50,000, Chand gave Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000 was taken from Shekhu.
Vipin neither got them the job he had promised nor did he return the money. On April 7, the accused called Vipin in the office and told them that they have arranged for some more clients who want to give Vipin money in order to get a job.
When he reached the office, Shekhu and Santosh tore the curtains in the office to use as rope and while Mustaq tied Vipin's hands, Munna tied his legs and then slit his throat.
All of them then dumped the body inside the small cabin in the office and locked the door from outside. While they were doing this a female employee of the office, Preeti Pandey arrived at the office but was told to go back by the accused on the pretext that a meeting was going on in the office. It was next day that Vipin's body was found.
The miscreants also have a criminal record, as a couple of years ago they had killed a lawyer, Alakh Singh in Noida and even killed another man Kallu in Ghazipur. The hunt to nab the absconding accused is on.
