With this attachment, the losses of Mishra's economic empire touched Rs 50 crore.

Bhadohi district magistrate Gaurang Rathi had on Thursday issued orders for attachment of a villa belonging to Mishra's daughter-in-law Rupa Mishra under Gangsters Act.

The action was based on reports of the police regarding purchase of the property in the name of Rupa Mishra through illegal earned money.

A unit of Lucknow police assisted the Bhadohi cops during the attachment process. Mishra is lodged in Agra jail and has 83 criminal cases, including those of murder, loot, kidnapping, rape, fraud, extortion, property grabbing among others against his name.

The gangster, who won Gyanpur assembly constituency four times between 2002 and 2017 on different party tickets, had lost the recent UP assembly elections.
