LUCKNOW: In a sensational murder - second in a month in Gomtinagar - a property dealer was shot while he was all alone at his house in Ujariaon area on Monday evening.
The victim was identified as Shariful Hasan (50). Although no one saw Hasan being shot, police believe that miscreants - probably two in number - barged into his house and shot him from point blank range.
This is the second sensational murder to have rocked Gomtinagar area this month.

On April 2, CMO (family welfare) Dr BP Singh was shot while he was on morning walk in Vishesh Khand area. While cops are still groping in dark about Dr Singh’s murder, the second one has added to their woes.
On Monday, Shariful, who also owns a cosmetic shop, had come back home at around 6.30 pm. At that time, his three daughters - Shabnam, Chanda and Sanam - were present in the house. Shariful had five daughters and a son. While two of the daughters had been married, his son is pursuing engineering course in New Delhi, the neighbours said.
When Shariful came back home, his three daughters went out to have chaat and paani-puri leaving Shariful at the house.
However, when they returned home at around 8.15, they found Shariful lying on the bed, covered with bedsheet.
Unaware of the situation, they removed the bedsheet only to find Shariful dead. They started shouting and alerting the neighbours. In the meantime police rushed to the spot on receiving the information.

The police said that it was a clear case of murder. Their close examination revealed that bullet hit the right side of the temple and had an exit from the the left side. However, what was surprising for the police that even though Ujariaon is a densely populated place, no one heard the gunshot sound. Shariful was probably shot once but from a close range, the police sources said and added though the exact number of bullets could only be ascertained after the postmortem examination.
The police sources said that since Shariful was a property dealer, an old rivalry could be the reason for the murder.
However, police officials added that it was too early to comment on the motive behind the murder. Senior police officials, including SP (trans-Gomti) Nitin Tiwari rushed to the spot.
