BAHRAICH: Sixteen persons including four policemen were injured when traders clashed with the police in Huzoorpur on Friday.
The traders had gheraoed the Huzoorpur police station in protest against the arrest of an iron trader. The situation turned ugly when the police used lathicharge to disperse the protesters.
The latter retaliated by pelting stones at the police.

In the ensuing clash 12 traders and four policemen were injured.
The traders jammed the Bahraich-Karnailganj road for four hours. Later, SP and DM reached the spot and pacified the agitators. Huzoorpur station officer (SO) was sent to the police lines. A magistrate inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
