The Vikas Rath Yatra of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will be off to a colourful start on Thursday morning with priests and religious leaders from different communities gracing the occasion to bless the CM.

Lucknow: The Vikas Rath Yatra of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will be off to a colourful start on Thursday morning with priests and religious leaders from different communities gracing the occasion to bless the CM.
The Yatra will be flagged off amid chanting of hymns by Sadhus from Ayodhya, Muslim clerics from Deoband and prists from the Christian community. People from all walks of life including Gulshan Bindu, a eunuch who made headlines by contesting the 2012 assembly polls from Ayodhya, are likely to be present at the event.

Hundreds of Akhilesh supporters had already reached Lucknow from different parts of the state and hundreds of SUVs and four-wheelers were lined up on Lohia Path leading to the La Martiniere Boys College ground - from where the yatra would be flagged off at around 9 am.
Akhilesh's rath is expected to lead a train of supporters on hundreds of four-wheelers and luxury vehicles. Enthusiastic Akhilesh supporters could been seen dancing to folk songs on live music with dhols at the venue since early Wednesday evening.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the CM's yatra all through the 70 km route starting from the La Martiniere College ground to Shuklaganj stadium in Unnao. While DGP office will monitor the law and order situation during the Rath Yatra, two DIGs have been deputed to oversee the security arrangements. A total of six SPs, 30 additional SPs, 60 deputy SPs, 60 inspectors, 900 sub-inspectors, 5,000 constables and 20 PAC companies would be deputed to provide complete security during the journey.
