LUCKNOW: Though power supply was restored on Thursday at the KD
Singh Babu
Stadium after three days, uncertainty over its supply continued even late into the night. UP sports department's deputy director RP Singh told TOI: "The power supply to KD Singh Babu Stadium was stopped because the management has to settle electricity dues of about Rs six lakh.
As the management does not have money, the payment is still pending. The payment is likely to be cleared in next two days."
However, a hosteler said, "As the management of the stadium has still not cleared the payment, the power supply can be snapped again." Earlier, when the power cut was done, apart from girls hostel, the entire stadium had plunged in darkness. Even officials and players were forced to work at the stadium without electricity in hot weather. With no sprinkling of water for three days, the stadium ground also dried up.
