Power supply stable in state: UPPCL
Lucknow: Despite extreme heat conditions and a sharp rise in electricity demand, U’s power supply system continues to function smoothly while addressing complaints related to transformers and outages on priority, claimed UP Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).
The state is currently providing 18 hours of electricity in rural areas, 21.5 hours in tehsil headquarters and nagar panchayats, and 24 hour supply in district headquarters.
UPPCL director (distribution), Gyanendra Dhar Dwivedi said the corporation is making continuous efforts through long- and short-term agreements, energy exchanges and energy banking arrangements to maintain uninterrupted supply. On May 22 at 2.30pm, the state recorded a peak power supply of 30,357 megawatts.
Officials and employees have been instructed to remain active in their areas, attend consumer calls and ensure quick restoration during outages. Adequate transformers, repair gangs, funds and other resources have also been arranged to tackle disruptions caused by heavy summer load.
