LUCKNOW: Last-minute poll preparations brought the traffic to a grinding halt at the Kaiserbagh crossing on Saturday. The cascading effect was felt on Hazratganj crossing, Chiraiya Jheel and KD Singh Babu Stadium crossing as well.
Snarls were witnessed from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday due to the influx of roadways buses carrying electronic voting machines for the municipal elections to be held on Sunday.

Ambulances, roadways buses and school vans were seen stuck in the jam. Aditya Pratap Singh, a Sitapur native who was ferrying a relative an ambulance, got stuck at the Kaiserbagh crossing for over an hour. "I didn't spot even one cop regulating the traffic," he alleged.
ASP (Traffic) RS Nim said they were short of workforce as most of the cops were on election duty.
