LUCKNOW: A spate of political meetings caused traffic jams at major roads in the city on Sunday.
Commuters had a tough time trying to manoeuvre their way through heavy traffic on major routes which included Kaiserbagh, Chowk, Hazratganj, University road, Charbagh, Golaganj, Kapoorthala and Alambagh.
The road stretch between Kaiserbagh bus station and City Station was congested from 2pm till 5pm because of the crowd which had come to take part in
Aam Aadmi Party's rally at Rafe-aam club, near Centennial College.
"I was going to watch a movie and even though I had set out from home 15 minutes before the movie was about to start, I was stuck for half an hour in the traffic. I ended up missing the show", said Atul Agarwal, who was seen stuck in a jam near City station at around 3pm.
"I had planned to hang out with my family in Gomtinagar but I cancelled the plan, when reached City station and looked at the traffic situation. I lost one hour in various traffic jams. First from Daliganj due to the mela, then at Rafe-aam club and the road towards Chowk because of the Sunday market in Nakkhas," said Wasif Siddiqui who was stuck in a jam near a nursing home at City station.
