LUCKNOW: The Lucknow police on Wednesday submitted the chargesheet in CMO Dr BP Singh murder case before a local court. However, the chargesheet was submitted without waiting for the report of forensic science lab where voice samples of the accused have been sent for verification. As a result, chief judicial magistrate Rajesh Upadhayaya directed that the chargesheet will be taken up on July 16 for the purpose of taking cognizance on it.
This was the second occasion when the police showed haste in filing the chargesheet in the case.
On July 6, the police had submitted a chargesheet but the court had returned it and directed the police to conduct further investigations. The court had also pulled up the police for filing the chargesheet when the investigations were still underway. The police had named shooters Anand Praksh Tiwari and Vinod Sharma and contractor RK Verma in the chargesheet. The voice samples of the three accused were taken and sent to the lab on July 12 for matching it with the voice in the telephonic conversation intercepted by the police. However, instead of waiting for the lab report, the police filed the chargesheet on Wednesday.
