Later, he shot himself and succumbed to his injury on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Ashish's friend Abhishek Yadav, who accompanied him at the time of crime, gave cops a slip and surrendered in a court on Tuesday.
Abhishek was absconding after the crime. Abhishek, the police said, reached the court disguised as a lawyer and surrendered. Though police had been deployed on the court compound to nab Abhishek, he managed to hoodwink the cops.
The police have now decided to tighten the noose around Abhishek and were initiating the process to slap the National Security Act (NSA) on him. Abhishek's a fit case for slapping NSA as the Friday incident had adversely affected the public order and the schools in the area had to be closed, said circle officer Rajesh Srivastava.
CO said that Yashpal Singh, a resident of Saketpuri in Krishnanagar, did not inform the police about Ashish's behaviour despite repeated complaints of the neighbours.
Srivastava said though Ashish did not have any criminal record, Singh should have got his police verification done as his activities often disturbed the neighbours.
