Play depicts amity amid Partition pain

Theatre lovers vouched that they have not seen such a wonderful on-stage acting when they watched ‘Hind 1957: Longing and Belonging', a thought-provoking drama featuring Sachin Khedekar, Sonal Jha, Dadhi Pandey, Ankit, Ravi Chahar, and NK Pant on the second day of Repertwahr festival.
An adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer prize-winning play ‘Fences', ‘Hind-1957' captivated the audience with its powerful performances and compelling storytelling.
With a strong message on Hindu-Muslim unity, post-Partition pain, and sacrifices, the play captured the struggles of a father burdened by his past and the hopes of his sons looking towards a brighter future.
Directed by Feroz Abbas Khan, the narrative took audience on an emotional journey, unravelling family secrets and confrontations. Abhishek Shukla's poetry deepened emotional resonance of the story.
