Pink hospitals ahoy

LUCKNOW: The first decision taken by minister for medical health Rajbeer Singh on Wednesday was to paint the city hospitals pink. In order to bring about uniformity and to give them a distinct identity, it was imperative that all hospitals looked alike, the newly-appointed minister said while addressing a departmental meeting, and directing the concerned officials to finish the job before Diwali.

Singh, elaborating on his pans to spruce up the health department, stressed on the need for inspections and constant monitoring.

He would personally ensure that doctors and para-medical staff found absent from duty would be dealt with sternly.
Singh said his top priority would be providing treatment facilities for the eradication of malaria and encephalitis from the rural areas of the state. The primary health centres, he said, should have enough medicines to distribute among the affected populations. Singh said physicians suspended arbitrarily by the previous regime would be reinstated.
