Pics, paintings of Hindu deities on display at museum

Lucknow: Thirty-four photographs of paintings and sculptures of deities were put on display in an exhibition that began at the State Museum in Lucknow Zoo on Thursday on Thursday.
Organised on the World Museum Day, the exhibition will continue till May 30.
It is based on the theme of ‘Museum Sustainability and Wellbeing’ which has been decided by the International Council of Museums.
Paintings of Hindu deities made in Amer, Bundi, Marwad, Kangda and Mathura styles between 2 BC-18 CE are displayed. Photographs of some notable sculptures like Shiva with Saptamatrakao (6-7CE), Mahishasurmardini (18 CE), Ram Laxman Sita (19 CE) and Mahishasurmardini Ganesha and Kartikey (19 CE) are among the exhibits, said assistant director Minakshi Khemka.
