Pankaj, Mamta of UP Police emerge cross-country winners
Lucknow: Pankaj Kumar and Mamta Pal of Uttar Pradesh Police emerged winners in the men's and women's categories respectively of the 59th UP State Cross Country Championship held at La Martiniere College ground on Sunday. Pankaj clocked 31:13, while Mamta completed the 10-km run in 35:28. Rinku Singh of Varanasi and Manish Rajput of Agra secured the second and third positions, while Reema Patel and Neetu Kumari claimed the second and third spots in the women's category, respectively.

Lucknow's Mohit to lead state handball team
Mohit Yadav of Lucknow has been named the captain of the Uttar Pradesh senior men's handball team for the upcoming 53rd National Senior Men's Handball Championship. The championship will be held in Kottayam, Kerala, from December 26 to 29. Uttar Pradesh Handball Association general secretary Anadeswar Pandey announced the team after the conclusion of a training camp at KD Singh Babu Stadium

Batting first, Smash Club posted 131 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Sandeep Chhabra was the top scorer with 35 runs. For SMR Club, Rashid claimed four wickets for 21 runs. Kaustubh wins Asian title
Kaustubh Singh of Lucknow defeated Ansh Kathuria 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 to win the under-14 title at the Asian Tennis Tournament held in Jaipur from Dec 16 to 20. With this victory, he has become UP's second-ranked player in his category.
