Lucknow: The UPSTF on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly duping army job aspirants, police said.
The accused Manish Yadav was arrested from Chinhat on Tuesday and cops recovered fake ID cards, mobile phones and fake joining letters from his possession.
DySP, STF, DK Shahi, said during interrogation Manish disclosed that in the name of recruitment he used to take Rs 7 lakh from gullible candidates.
“Manish’s brother-in-law Jitendra used to prepare fake appointment letters adding insignia of army departments and another member of the gang Sushil’s job was to trap innocent boys in the name of recruitment,” said Shahi.
Efforts are on to arrest other members of the gang named by Manish, said the officer adding that so far 12 gullible youths have been duped by the gang.
