Salman’, intelligent ‘Aamir’ and chubby ‘Amjad Khan,
Shammi Kapoor & R Madhvan’ kept acting pricey in the
goat
market at Joggers Park on the eve of Bakrid, it was a triplet of Ajmeri goats which finally walked away with all the limelight by getting sold at a whopping Rs 6.5 lakh.
Elated after selling the triplets – Chunmun,
Munnu
and Munmun – at the highest price in the market,
Mohammad Asim
said he had bought the goats from
Ajmer
for Rs 42,000 in February 2020. The total weight of the triplets was nearly 410kg, each being around 130-140kg. “I made special arrangements for the goats. Their diet included barley, oats, grams and digestive syrup. I also hired a masseur for Rs 5,000 per month who used to give one hour of massage to them daily,” Asim said.
Goats of other exotic breeds were also sold at high prices. Firdaus Khan sold 10 Ajmeri goats for Rs 6.9 lakh, each of them weighing around 55-60 kg. His partner Gulsher sold five
Alvari
breed goats for Rs 2.9 lakh.
However, the duo did not spend as much on the upkeep of their goats as Asim did. They fed them gram, wheat and leaves of sycamore fig and no massage was given to them.
However, to attract buyers, Gulsher named his goats after
Bollywood
actors on the basis of their characteristics. “I named the most attractive one as
Salman Khan. The most intelligent of the lot got the name, Aamir, who never eats leftover food of other goats. My three other goats were not so special but their weight earned them names like Amjad Khan, Shammi Kapoor and R Madhvan,” Gulsher said.
