Officialsfail to checkillegal mining

Lucknow: In view of repeated complaints of mining in Prayagraj division, the Divisional Commissioner Prayagraj, Additional DG Prayagraj, and IG Prayagraj took surprise inspections in various districts of Fatehpur where illegal mining was being reported.The officers have recommended suspension and departmental action against ADM, ASP, SDM, Circle Officer, two SHOs, mining officer, RTO Fatehpur for failing to check illegal mining.Three groups were constituted by Prayagraj DC Vijay Vishwas Pant. ADG Prayagraj zone, Bhanu Bhaskar, said several irregularities were found during inspection of the sites. “The mining officer present on the spot was directed to present a report by Wednesday,” said Bhaskar.
