Officers should get into habit of writing: CS

Lucknow: Chief secretary DS Misra released the annual magazine at a function held at CSI Club, Raj Bhavan Colony, on Wednesday. Also present on the occasion were UP IAS Association president Mahesh Gupta, editor-in-chief of the magazine, Rajneesh Dubey, editor Mukesh Meshram and UP IAS Association secretary Ranjan Kumar.The CS said that writing is an art and due to the pressures of work, officials do not get enough writing practice. They should get into the habit of writing. He said that sports and cultural programmes should be organised every 2-3 months where IAS officers and their families must participate. Editor-in-chief and additional chief secretary, Rajneesh Dubey, said that UPDATE was a vertical bridge between two generations of IAS officers. “It’s an attempt to connect senior and young officers,” he said. The CS added that IAS officers had to play the important role of shaping the state’s future. He also encouraged officials to work towards making UP a USD 1 trillion economy in five years.“Officers of the UP cadre have always been at the forefront of administration. Recently, MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore were signed with companies from abroad and in India for investment in UP. This was a result of our efforts and now it is our responsibility to ensure that these MoUs are implemented,” he said.
