No need for agitation for Kashi, Mathura: VHP
Lucknow: Newly appointed Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief Alok Kumar on Monday said that there was no need for agitation for Kashi and Mathura since the Hindu community is “on the right side of the law”.“We are on the right side of the law, and therefore, the matter should be left to the court. The law will take its own course. There is no need for any agitation for Kashi and Mathura,” Kumar said, while speaking to TOI, soon after the outfit’s central management committee meeting in Ayodhya. His statement came hours after the Allahabad high court on Monday dismissed the Gyanvapi mosque management committee’s appeal challenging the Varanasi court’s Jan 31 order allowing prayers in the southern cellar of the complex.Earlier, while speaking to reporters in Ayodhya, Kumar drew a contrast with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement which began in 1984. “It started with the blessings of revered saints and became the longest movement of the world. With the active participation of millions of Rambhakts across the nation, in different segments of the movements, it has ultimately become the grand resurgence movement of Hindus,” he said, adding that the sacrifice of millions of Karsevaks, has expressed the firm national commitment to construct the temple. Kumar said that it was also the longest legal fight in global history, taking over 134 years. “The Hindu society realized this resolve. The continuous hard work and contribution of the dedicated team of lawyers under the proficient leadership of senior jurists K. Parasaran and Vaidyanathan will remain etched in the national psyche always,” he said.Kumar said that a new era has started after the Ram temple consecration ceremony on Jan 22. “Now, the journey from Ram Mandir to Ram Rajya has started. It is a struggle to reestablish the values of Hindu civilisation and culture. Hindu society will have to accept the responsibility of building this new era and, therefore, get ready for it,” he said. The VHP chief said that the present period is optimistic and brings constructive change for the country.
