Meerut re-run in Auraiya? 15 days after wedding, bride gets husband killed to reunite with lover

KANPUR: In a case reminiscent of the recent Meerut murder, a newly-wed woman in Auraiya plotted her husband murder with her lover, barely 15 days after their wedding. She paid Rs 2 lakh to a contract killer. The accused woman and her lover have been arrested.
On March 19, victim Dilip was found lying injured a field. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Auraiya SP Abhijit R Shankar said Dilip, a hydra operator, married Pragati on March 5. Pragati was in a romantic relationship with Anurag Yadav of her village. Unable to elope with her lover post marriage, she plotted Dilip's murder. Anurag hired Ramji Nagar to murder Dilip. Anurag and Ramji lured Dilip to the fields, where they attacked and shot him, said the SP. The police, using CCTV footage, arrested the three accused including Pragti. Two pistols, cartridges, motorcycle, two mobile phones, a wallet, an Aadhaar card, and Rs 3,000 were recovered from the accused.
