Navy deserter arrested for police constable exam compromise

The UP STF apprehended a former Navy deserter and another individual in Jhansi for manipulating a police constable examination. They were found with photocopies of admit cards of suspected colluders. The operation also seized two SUVs.

LUCKNOW: The UP special task force (STF) apprehended two individuals, including a former Indian Navy deserter, in Jhansi for attempting to manipulate a police constable examination held on Friday.
STF officials disclosed that the suspects were found in possession of photocopies of admit cards belonging to 10 aspirants suspected of collusion with the accused.

Additionally, two SUVs were seized during the operation.
The officials revealed that the duo had solicited amounts ranging from Rs 8-10 lakh per candidate in exchange for assistance in clearing the examination. They noted that the arrested individuals had a history of involvement in similar malpractices in various recruitment exams across multiple states, underscoring their extensive criminal records.
The arrested individuals were identified as Monu Gurjar, (32) also known as Monu Kumar, and Rajnish Ranjan (38), a resident of Nalanda in Bihar. They were apprehended near the police lines under the jurisdiction of Nawabad police station in Jhansi on Friday.
Additional SP, STF, RK Mishra said that Gurjar, a former Indian Navy recruit who deserted his post, embarked on a nefarious path after meeting an individual named Monu Pandit, a Mathura resident involved in the business of paper leaks and exam compromises.
Gurjar’s journey into the realm of exam manipulation expanded rapidly, with his involvement spanning several states including UP, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan, said Mishra.
During interrogation, Gurjar disclosed his association with one Ashish Paliwal and Atul Paliwal from Meerut, facilitated through Pandit, with plans to manipulate the police constable recruitment exam.
