Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh won the bronze medal in the artistic women's group team event in yogasana on Tuesday at the 38th National Games being held in Uttarakhand.
In the yogasana competition held in Almora, Simran, Aryanshi, Indu, Sakshi and Kanika gave their best performance for UP. Uttar Pradesh finished fifth in the yogasana competition with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal. The UP team was led by coach Malvika Bajpai and manager Neha Sharon.
Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association (UPOA) secretary-general Anandeshwar Pandey congratulated the medal winners. UP Yogasana Sports Association president Rishipal Singh, working president Yash Parashar and general secretary Rohit Kaushik also lauded the performance of the players.
With this, UP has reached 11th position in the table with a total of 17 medals, including six gold, five silver and six bronze medals, in the National Games so far.
