Lucknow: The city of nawabs appears to have a special place in film director Muzaffar Ali’s heart, as while discussing his life journey at the Koushala literature festival at Sangeet Natak Akademi on Saturday, he talked about the city’s culture and the quality of its people that “pulls everyone towards them”.
“Lucknow gave me the perception to give respect to every thought and culture, while Aligarh inculcated knowledge in me,” Ali said.
He said Lucknow people are inclusive in nature, they have mystical familiarity that pulls everyone towards them. It prepared him for Aligarh. “I got to know about poets like Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Rumi and Rahi Masoom Raza who can reflect the soul of human emotions through their poetry,” said Ali. Further, he said that Aligarh also gave him an opportunity to meet humorous people.
