Lucknow: For ghazal and poetry lovers, 2-day Cultural Kaarwan 2025 Lucknow, organised by Jashn-e-adab and union ministry of culture and tourism, will be held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan from Friday.
The festival is organised every year to celebrate and showcase rich heritage and diverse art forms of different regions of India to spread cultural awareness, unity and appreciation for artistic traditions.
Founder of Jashn e Adab, Kunwar Ranjit Singh Chauhan, said the event offered a treat of music and literature. "In view of the ongoing Maha Kumbh, we have named our poets meet Kavya Kumbh," he said.
"Day 1highlights include a session on ‘Katha Rang- Kahaniyan Kal Bhi Aaj Bhi' with Anupama Sharad, Puneeta Awasthi and Nitin Vasistha followed by an Odissi dance performance by Padma Shri Ranjana Gauhar and Vrinda Chadha and a session with actor Manu Rishi Chadha, actress Sunita Rajwar and poet Yatindra Mishra to celebrate centenary year of Raj Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi. A play ‘Court Martial' will be staged, while in Kavya Kumbh, Prof Wasim Rizvi, Padma Shri Surendra Sharma and Ashok Chakradhar will regale listeners with their poetry," he added.
On the second day, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia will cast a spell with his flute, followed rendition of classical ragas by Pandit Sajan Mishra. Folk singer Malini Awasthi will present folk music. Entry to all the events is free.
