“She was stable to go home so was discharged after preliminary treatment,” said hospital superintendent Dr Omkar Yadav. Suresh

Dhapola

, founder of Balloons, the shelter home where the girl lives, claimed that even after a two-month stay at the Baharaich distrcit hospital, the girl was not given any de-worming tablet. “A day after she was brought here, Ehsaas started vomiting and her haemoglobin went as low as 5.8 units against the normal 11.5-13.5 units. We gave her de-worming tablets and worms as big as 3 to 5 inches came out,” he said.

Following persistent diarrhoea, Ehsaas was admitted to RML hospital. “The paediatrician at out centre, Dr

Naveen Srivastava

, has also recommended a CT scan for her stomach and brain for an overall testing. We feel she should also be vaccinated,” said Dhapola.
