More people turning to homeopathy: Pathak

Lucknow: People’s trust in homeopathy is growing, with many turning to the system of medicine for the treatment of various ailments, deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak said at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Centre on Thursday.
Speaking at a programme organised by the HomeoShakti Foundation to mark World Homeopathy Awareness Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, he said the system works by addressing a patient’s symptoms and overall condition, which may help support faster recovery in many cases.
“Homeopathic medicines, often given as small, sweet pills, are widely believed to act gently on the body and are considered to have minimal adverse effects when taken under medical supervision. There is also scope for evidence-based research to provide cost-effective treatment. However, medicines should always be taken on a doctor’s advice,” said Pathak, adding that more research and documentation are required to strengthen confidence in homeopathy.
Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal said the knowledge developed by earlier generations should be preserved and taken forward through collective efforts.
